LGBTQ travelers aren’t the biggest users of shared economy websites like Airbnb at the moment, according to market researchers at CMI. Their 2015 report states that 17 pe of LGBTQ travelers surveyed choose a site like Airbnb or VRBO, with only 6% of travelers preferring these options for accommodation.
Royal Caribbean makes a strong commitment to LGBT community, equal rights and leaves anti-gay states like North Carolina and Mississippi in the dust.

Starting this May, Van Ulbrich will begin serving as the company’s first Director of Diversity and Inclusion with a focus on all minority groups – in particular, the LGBT community. It’s a coming out party of sorts – Van Ulbrich’s second but the company’s first. Though Royal Caribbean has long been committed to its LGBT employees and client base, in his new position, Van Ulbrich says he will officially be leading the company out of the corporate closet and sending a message to travelers all over the world.
Sunday, June 12 marks the city’s 28th annual PrideDay, an all-day LGBT extravaganza culminating with a parade and festival at Penn’s Landing. PrideDay is the finale to LGBT Pride Week, a week that includes trans health conferences, the Philly Dyke March and the kick off block party.
