The fourth annual 2018 Global Travel Forecast, produced in partnership with the GBTA Foundation, shows that travel prices are expected to rise sharply in the coming year, reaching nearly four per cent increases in some sectors. Overall, global airfares are expected to rise 3.5 per cent in 2018, hotel prices are expected to be 3.7 per cent higher, and ground transportation such as taxis, trains and buses are expected to rise only 0.6 per cent, but it’s an increase nonetheless. President and CEO of Carlson Wagonlit Travel attributes the higher pricing to a stronger economy and growing demand. Find out more.
