Global LGBTQ travel association unites tourism professionals around the shared goal of creating a more welcoming world for all travelers - The International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association’s 35th Anniversary Global Convention, 9-12 May at the Westin Harbour Castle in Toronto, brought together approximately 500 tourism professionals representing 40 countries to share innovative ideas and best practices, making it the best attended and most globally diverse conference in IGLTA’s history.

Discovery is an integral part of what we do at the International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association. True, our association serves diverse purposes, but we are foremost a business organization. As such, IGLTA benefits its members most by learning about them and their needs. As our members evolve, IGLTA evolves. At our Annual Global Convention next week in Toronto, we’re taking a new step in our evolution with the IGLTA Foundation’s inaugural Discovery session.

The International Gay and Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) took over Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada last night for the IGLTA Annual Global Convention opening ceremony, sponsored by Tourism Toronto and Destination Ontario.

In 1984, it was radical thinking to prioritize LGBTQ travel as a key market. Our groundbreaking mission to expand LGBTQ tourism globally made us a resource for queer travelers. Today our mission continues, and the IGLTA Annual Global Convention is more important than ever.
